LAB24
Current limiter for 4-20mA loop signal
Application:
Protection of power supplies and input boards for acquisition systems operating on 0–20 or 4–20 mA current loops.
The LAB24 acts like an electronic fuse placed in series with the loop power supply. Virtually transparent under normal operation, it instantly limits the loop current to 24 mA in the event of an overcurrent, then becomes transparent again once the fault has cleared.
Installing the LAB24 adds new functions to your system such as:
- protection against short circuits in case of wiring errors;
- remote testing of the power line by shorting the two conductors (current limited to 24 mA);
- protection against full-scale overruns on connected sensors (e.g., full-scale exceedance on a level sensor during flooding, etc.)
